Latino Youth Summit Shows at Risk Youth How to Achieve Success
Caldwell's Latino Youth Summit is sending teens a strong message of staying out of gangs and off drugs.
Danny Trejo, best known for appearances in "Spy Kids" and "Conair", even put in an appearance.
He joined local Hispanic business and community leaders in mentoring teens about the importance of education and a drug-free lifestyle.
"I think a lot of them see that there are opportunities out there, especially here in the U. S. as American citizens. This is the land of opportunity to let these kids know not to let anyone hold them back from pursuing those opportunities," said John Edwards, with the Hispanic Business Association.
Kids who attended Saturday's summit were selected by their school administrators.
