2007 Alternative School Enrollment Up
The halls at Pacific Secondary School are busier than they've ever been. Enrollment at the alternative school is up, which means fewer troubled teens are falling through the cracks. 200 students signed up for the 2007-2008 school year, up from 104 just two years ago. The school helps youth, at-risk of performing poorly or even failing in the regular education system, get their high school diplomas. The approach to learning is more casual. Class sizes are small and students attend school for only half-a-day, Monday through Thursday. Last year 90% of eligible students graduated from Pacific Secondary.
